The property is perfect for a couple, it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We were within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The beautiful Tobacco Bay was a short walk also. We spent most afternoons there. We rented a scooter after a couple of days and that was fantastic. We travelled to many beautiful beaches and even found some to be empty, we had the beach all to ourselves. Bermuda is definately paradise to us and we are returning again this year. I have been to BDA 28 times. I have done the huge hotels but very expensive and do go to them to stroll or have a meal. This is very reasonable place and you can cook some meals as eating out is very expensive. If you like to be on your own and don't need alot of amenities or room this is for you. A sm. store across the street to start food purchases on arrival and also for phone cards. Get a scooter to get around it is truly the only way to stop and see out of the way sites. The views are excellent, access to private beach is a huge plus and the privacy is, well, what we had hoped for. The house itself is equipped with everything we needed .... when we wanted to cook in, we did; and when we didn't, we were off enjoying different parts of Bermuda. The house is clean and well kept, comfortable and inviting. Meeting the homeowner and his wife was a real treat for all of us... they are great people. There is a ferry slip within walking distance of the house -- great for a jump to Hamilton or the Dockyard. Buses, taxis, etc are just down the road. We love the experience of staying in private homes, and this one is a gem. We can't wait to return... (Hats off to your rental company. You run a wonderfully professional operation.) Our daughter had it all thought out and presented us with a small Christmas tree and pointsettia when we arrived. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed and we loved the architecture and the setting. We spent the week sightseeing beautiful Bermuda and the rest of the time sitting on "the dock of the bay" enjoying the spectacular view and the tranquility. [Mr. W, the taxi driver], recommended by you, took us all over the Island and was the best tour guide I have encountered. We swam with the dolphins at Dockyard, had a spa afternoon at the Princess Hamilton, went out on a small boat ride run by an amazing guy named Tony, shopped in Hamilton, ate wonderful rockfish, sea chowder, mahi mahi.... The singing frogs at night were very soothing, and the beach for the villa was fun to explore at low tide.   The home was perfect and the owner so nice, no issues at all, the balconies and the views were my favorite second only to the people on the Island. Many fun adventures, laughs, relaxation..... Thanks much Fiona. We had a wonderful week. Clean, comfortable, and very welcoming homeowners. We rented scooters for the entire week and found discovering the island was easy as this cottage is located smack dab in the middle. The bus is just a few steps away if scooters are not your thing. We cooked several meals in the cottage and grilled outside as well. Dining out and groceries are expensive in Bermuda, and we found cooking helped save some money. There is a cute little restaurant/diner called the Specialty Inn just a mile or so away that has a large menu with the most reasonable prices that we found our last day. But don't forget the Swizzle Inn, where we found ourselves dining at least 3~4 times during our stay! We highly recommend this property and would ourselves rent it again.
