    There is a separate private bathroom in this spacious apartment. Living room is sunken (4 steps down), bedroom 1 step down, all other rooms are on same level. Full sized Kitchen with formal dining room and living room, plus laundry room.

    The 2 BR comprises 1 King (2 twins attached), a Queen bed and a fold away cot. (5 Persons Max) and has a large kitchen, ample bathroom with separate laundry facility, huge living room dining room combination.

    Both units can request an extra inflatable mattress.

    This unit has access to wireless Internet. Cable TV and DVD player included. Microwave oven. Shower- no bath tubs. Air conditioning. Both units have a hair dryer, iron, and an ironing board. No Pets on the premises please. Barbecue and outdoor furniture including table and chairs, umbrella.

    Telephone service available: BERMUDA calling card for overseas calls is required. Swimming from the front of the property is good but guests must be careful as the rocks can be sharp. Swimming shoes are a must for all ages.

    NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

    The bus stop is just at the end of the road from the apartment. There is a grocery store nearby, as well as all the usual facilities for sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and water skiing, fishing and para-sailing near Somerset Bridge and Ireland Island. Tennis and golf courses (Port Royal and Riddell’s Bay, as well as the Southampton Princess) are conveniently located as well, and motor cycles can be delivered right to your front door.

    There are 2 bus stops near this rental unit which go eastward for travel toward the Beaches and Hamilton which are 5 and 8 minutes away respectively. (Normal walking)

    The other bus stop which is for westward travel is about 6 minutes away located on the opposite side of the street.

    There is also a free shuttle service to the fast ferry during the morning busy period only. This shuttle can be caught from the eastward bus stop.

    Last bus leaves Hamilton at midnight: schedules available online and upon arrival.

    The property faces the Great Sound and has a spectacular view with ready access to swimming from the front of the property. The bus will take you to Horseshoe Bay in just a few minutes, if you don’t rent mopeds to get around.

    The apartment will suit guests who desire peace and tranquility above all else. For those who enjoy a walk, there are the Old Bermuda Railway scenic trails from Somerset Bridge – about ten minutes from the cottage. The Trail is famous because vehicular traffic is not permitted: just hikers, cyclists and mopeds. The vista provides a unique glimpse at some of Bermuda’s oldest homes and loveliest estates. Somerset Village is nearby – a charming hamlet with pretty shops and nice restaurants to enjoy.

    Beyond the village is the Naval Dockyard with Bermuda’s maritime history preserved for you to happily explore. The acres of buildings and parkland is located on a headland with the most extraordinary views of the length of the island. Dockyard also features pretty craft shops and artisans at work, excellent locally produced books and pottery etc. and a wide array of pubs, cafes and luxurious carriage trade stores to browse through. The ferry stops here as well, so you can hop aboard and take a leisurely cruise into Hamilton with your mopeds in the hold.

    • The Sandy’s Seaside Cottage is the small cottage, which was once the gardener’s, on an eight-acre estate facing the Atlantic Ocean. With western sunsets, a rambling garden, and its own small swimming cove, the cottage is nestled amongst tall trees with complete privacy.

    Simply but fully equipped and furnished, the cottage has one bedroom with twin beds (that can be made up into a king-sized bed) and a pullout sofa in the living room. Bedroom has reverse air conditioning/heat. Fans in Kitchen and living room. Electric Heater in living room also.

    There is a comfortable kitchen with dining area and a private three-piece bath (with shower only). The refrigerator is a full-sized unit with a freezer capacity suitable for the storage of a good supply of frozen goods. No microwave oven. There is also a washing machine which attaches to the kitchen sink and does cold water washes only, please! The cottage has an iron and a hair dryer. Television in cottage: no cable. Outdoors is a BBQ, as well as a table for dining, and patio chairs.

    From the property there is access to a swimming cove, which has a small amount of sand. To reach the cove requires a walk along the property, and down a short cliff-side which is fairly steep. Water shoes are useful at this location, as is good balance!

    The master bedroom has a king size bed, with a private adjoining bath equipped with a tub, double sinks, toilet and a separate shower facility (tiled in sea glass.) The suite has its own sitting room, with big screen television and a treadmill, and is on the main level overlooking the water and the dock area. There is a secret garden off the Master suite with an outdoor fireplace.

    The upstairs bedroom has two twin beds that can be assembled into a king unit and has a television. The third bedroom has two double beds and a television as well, with a splendid view over the Sound. There are gorgeous bathrooms for each of these bedrooms. All bathrooms have heated towel racks, double sinks, toilet, hair dryer and make up mirror.

    The kitchen facilities include a Viking stove, a Sub Zero refrigerator, ice maker, an eat in area that suits two, a TV, several sets of china, glassware, pots, pans and cutlery as well as glassware, stemware and a full complement of table linens plus a laundry area. One can access the dock from the kitchen or the living-room – dining area. The dining area has chairs and a table large enough to sit eight persons comfortably with good linens and china.

    There is an extended living room and dining room filled with comfortable furniture. The den has a games table and large screen television as well as a bar facility for evening entertaining . There are three VCR machines, a DVD unit and cable TV and a large selection of movies for your entertainment. The dock area is well equipped with lounge and patio furniture, umbrellas, a barbecue, diving boards and superb deep water swimming and snorkelling.

    The house is fully air conditioned and has ceiling fans in every room. The house comes with maid service four times a week, and an automobile for those who hold valid and current BERMUDA driver’s licenses.

    2 sea kayaks are available for guest use from the large dock where the gas barbecue and lots of outdoor furniture are arranged for your relaxation. There is also a private garden off the master suite for admiring the view.

    A temporary membership at the Mid-Ocean Club can also be arranged. At the club there are tennis courts, a dining room, beaches, a famous golf course and other club amenities. These facilities are only 5 minutes away. The silvery sands of John Smiths Bay, a beautiful South Shore Beach is a ten minute walk from the house.

    There is an office with two telephone lines, multiple telephones for your convenience, a dedicated fax line and a computer with its own access line to the Internet. Costs associated with the use of telecommunication equipment will be deducted from the damage deposit. The house is situated 15 minutes from the city of Hamilton or the airport. Fine dining can be enjoyed in Flatts Village (about one half mile away) at a new restaurant called Rustico’s.

    Guests are met at the house and made welcome and shown around and then left to enjoy the quiet of their surroundings.     • The 2 Bedroom Bed and Breakfast is a very old Bermudian cottage (parts are 275 years old) that has been comfortably enlarged over the years. The house is situated on an acre of land (a veritable estate by Bermudian standards) high on a hill overlooking the ocean in Hamilton Parish – about midway between the city of Hamilton and the town of St. Georges. The house is exquisitely furnished in antiques and offers two bedrooms for guests (4 single beds) and the use of living areas.

    • Towels are changed every other day and sheets twice weekly. No personal laundry facilities are available at the house. No maid service is provided. A continental breakfast is provided.

    Bus transportation into Hamilton or St. Georges takes 15 minutes on Route 11, one of the island’s most frequent services. The bus stop is a three-minute walk from the house. Mopeds can be rented from a shop called ‘Wheels’. Shopping in the neighbourhood includes a supermarket at the Shelly Bay Plaza and a small convenience store at the gas station at the end of Radnor Road. One half mile away there is another convenience store open until midnight. Grocery stores also sell liquor, wines and beer. Drycleaners, a pizza parlor and a Post Office are nearby. Flatts Village is five minutes away by bus (and is delightful village) with nice places to eat (the Palmetto Bay Hotel is particularly pleasant), gift and other shops, and the Aquarium and Zoo which are well worth a visit. Sports activities include tennis courts (which can be booked at reasonable rates) at Grotto Bay, which is five minutes away by bus.

    Golfers will enjoy the St. Georges Club and there are numerous public courses. Hiking is enjoyable at Ferry Reach and St. David’s Head, two of the larger and more interesting parks. There is also Spittal Pond Bird Sanctuary and endless coastline areas to walk. Swimming and snorkelling are good on most beaches. However, Shelly Bay Beach five minutes from “The Bed and Breakfast”, is very safe, never has an undertow (as do many of the more turbulent South Shore beaches) and the caves around the headland offer excellent snorkeling. Tobacco Bay in St. Georges is a great beach year round – sheltered and with marvelous numbers of fish. Diving, sailing and windsurfing are all available at Grotto Bay which is nearby.

    The former capital of Bermuda, the Town of St. Georges is just a 15 minute bus ride away, but will take you back nearly 400 years to 1612. The town is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the English New World. The extraordinary atmosphere of the town is captured not in its gentrification but in the fact the folks live in these ancient buildings and that the ongoing matter of everyday business has somehow been managed within the confines of a pretty town with winding roads and oddly shaped buildings perched curbside. Its history embraces many roles: a thriving frontier town, military and naval outpost and colonial capital to name but a few. Crammed now with pretty shops and attractive cafes, it is centered on a beautiful waterfront square, with museums and galleries just steps away, including a replica of the Deliverance. This tiny ship bore the early settlers on to Jamestown, Virginia after a year of collecting food and ship building to escape the island they were shipwrecked upon. There is a fine golf course behind the town, gardens and churches to explore and dazzling beaches in the area.

    Buses run into Hamilton and beyond, and there is a ferry service into Hamilton as well: please check the schedules on the homepage of www.bermudarentals.com for times of departure and return. As the island is only 22 miles long, even at the sedate pace of 14 to 20 miles an hour, you can explore the entire island comfortably from your taxi, on the mopeds or by public transportation.     This new studio enjoys spectacular views of the North Shore and is near restaurants, gas station, supermarket, beaches and situated along a major bus route. Sleeping accommodations suit up to three guests: 1 or 2 adults, and one child under 10.

    Washer and dryer also available for visits of 7 nights or longer ONLY. Cable TV, radio CD player and DVD player available. Wireless internet is available.

    Non-smokers and no pets. Extra towels and sheets are made available to you, but no maid service is provided. This is a self catering unit that you are expected to keep neat and clean please.

    Garden has chairs to enjoy the view. The water from the property is clear and beautifully turquoise, and is great for swimming and snorkeling. It is important to note that access to the water is rocky and fairly steep: water shoes are a good idea to swim from this location.

    Only 20 minutes to Hamilton and 10 minutes from the Airport.

    Landfall Café 2 minute walk from the house, Bus stop- 30 seconds! Shelly Bay marketplace is a 15 minute walk away, where you can also purchase bus tickets.

    Mopeds can be rented from a shop called ‘Wheels’. Shopping in the neighbourhood includes a supermarket at the Shelly Bay Plaza and a small convenience store at the gas station at the end of Radnor Road. One half mile away there is another convenience store open until midnight. Grocery stores also sell liquor, wines and beer. Dry cleaners, a pizza parlor and a Post Office are nearby. Flatts Village is ten minutes away by bus (and is delightful village) with nice places to eat (the Palmetto Bay Hotel is particularly pleasant), gift and other shops, and the Aquarium and Zoo which are well worth a visit. Sports activities include tennis courts (which can be booked at reasonable rates) at Grotto Bay, which is five minutes away by bus.

    Golfers will enjoy the St. Georges Club and there are numerous public courses. Hiking is enjoyable at Ferry Reach and St. Davids Head, two of the larger and more interesting parks. There is also Spittal Pond Bird Sanctuary and endless coastline areas to walk. Swimming and snorkelling are good on most beaches. However, Shelly Bay Beach five minutes from “The Bed and Breakfast”, is very safe, never has an undertow (as do many of the more turbulent South Shore beaches) and the caves around the headland offer excellent snorkelling. Tobacco Bay in St. Georges is a great beach year round – sheltered and with marvellous numbers of fish. Diving, sailing and windsurfing are all available at Grotto Bay which is nearby.

    The suite has a television featuring local stations only. There is a CD player with radio and tape deck. The suite has for your convenience a bar fridge, as well as a coffee maker and there is a gas barbecue for your steaks. Freezer space in the main house can be provided for a small amount of meat. A modern small supermarket just around the corner stays open into the evening and has a wide range of delicious hot and cold take-out foods for your convenience.
    Beaches are within a ten minute walk of the house or 3 or 4 minutes by moped and the bus stop is one minutes walk from the house. The mini bus and taxi service is available in the town square.

    Attractions: Boat cruises, fishing, snorkelling, historical sites, horse and carriage tours, walking tours, parasailing, jet skiing, restaurants, cafes, bars, duty free shopping, and the sheer beauty of this lush island with its turquoise water and pink beaches. Ferry transport to other parts of the island from the harbour just steps away. (Operates April to November.)

    The apartment is located only 10 minutes by taxi from the Bermuda international airport, 15-20 minutes (by bus, which is close by) to the city of Hamilton, 15-20 minutes from the “ye olde town of St. George’s”, and Flatts village is a mere 5-10 minutes away. Buses run every 15 minute and the bus stop is only 3 minutes away!

    Shelley Bay Beach is at the end of the lane- a quiet beach with a pretty child friendly park attached. Golf can be arranged easily at nearby Ocean View Golf Course.

    There is a kitchenette comprised of an under-the-counter refrigerator with an ice compartment, a large toaster oven, microwave, hot plate and coffee-maker. It is fully equipped with dishes etc.

    The room also offers a table with two chairs for dining-in, a couch, colour cable TV, radio/alarm, an ironing board/iron, telephone (calling card access for overseas calls), and a bathroom with a shower. This unit has access to wireless Internet.

    There are sliding glass doors leading outdoors into the garden patio area… The room is tiled in Mexican tile and has a high open-beamed ceiling. Ample linens are provided including beach towels.

    Maid service is not provided, although for stays of one week or longer, fresh linens are provided weekly. There are ‘glimpses’ of the ocean from the cottage – and just a walk to either end of the lane affords spectacular views and the fading glory of the evening sunset. For the convenience of our guests, we have added an IPOD player so they can enjoy their own music. There is also WiFi access in the cottage.

    Clearwater Beach and Tobacco Bay are wonderful beaches nearby waiting for you to discover them. A mini-bus can be arranged to take you to Clearwater: the owner will provide details on how to secure mini-bus service.

    The cottage is tucked away on a quiet street in the historic town of St. George, Bermuda, high up on the hill. An outbuilding of the 200 year old house next door, the old structures has had its 12 inch thick stone walls restored with dedication and attention to detail, to become the comfortable new cottage it is today. Of particular interest is the fact that the town of St. George has now been declared a World Heritage site. St. George/Dockyard ferry service runs Mon – Fri from April – October (cruise ship season)

    There is a Mon – Fri commuter ferry service from St. George to Hamilton all year, weather permitting. Good shopping, restaurants, the waterfront, museums, churches, beautiful beaches and the pubs and cafes are all located within walking distance Golf courses are within 15 minutes cab or moped of the cottage, including Mid-Ocean Golf course (last minute inquiries for tee times welcome) and Ocean View in Devonshire, as well as many others (see website homepage for details) St. George’s has every convenience for the visitor combined with a beautiful harbour setting. There is a mini-bus service provided in the St. George area for a nominal charge, and the main bus service is about a 5 minute walk and will take you to all points on the island. For the independent adventurer, there are several cycle liveries close by for those wanting to rent scooters or pedal bikes. Boat and land tours are available as well and a ferry service runs between St. George and Dockyard 7 days a week. Dockyard is splendid collection of buildings dating from the early 1800’s used by the British Navy to re-provision their ships. Now converted to museums, shops and artisans studios, a trip to Dockyard is a must- and to get there by ferry will combine the pleasures of a cruise, with stunning scenery and a fascinating glimpse into Bermuda’s colonial past.
