The pretty little cottage is perched at the waters edge, overlooking Harrington Sound near the village of Flatts.
With A/C and a ceiling fan, and a heater the cottage has a 4 poster double maple bed with a new mattress, and its own little three piece bath with shower (and hair dryer so you won’t have top pack one).
The cottage has its own private phone line with a phone jack, television service (no cable). In the kitchen we have a coffee maker, toaster oven, clock radio, small fridge/stove unit (freezer space small with only ice trays) and an iron and ironing board. In the garden there is a barbecue as well so you can lounge and watch the para-sailers float by while your steaks sizzle.
There are no sleeping facilities for children as the unit suits a single person or a couple only. There is no formal closet but we have added hooks and hangers on backs of doors. No laundry facilities available for stays of less than 10 days.
Maid service is provided once per week for stays of 7 days duration or more. Extra towels and sheets are provided for your convenience. Nearest beaches are: Gibbet's Beach in Flatts which is within walking distance, Shelley Bay - a calm and tranquil North Shore Beach and John Smith's Bay which is on the South Shore, with deep soft sand, gentle surf and an excellent swimming and snorkeling beach. Both are both 5 minutes by bike. Flatts Village is in walking distance and there you can do a little shopping, or have a casual meal The bus stop is just beyond the garden gate. Flatts Village now has a pizzeria, take-out cafe, Italian restaurant and of course the 1926 Aquarium with its attached museum and mini-zoo. Nearest convenience store is Twins Variety on Flatts Hill (which is walking distance and open early and till late evenings), and Harrington Hundreds Grocery - 5 minutes on bike. The Specialty Inn on South Road at Collectors Hill is a 5 minute moped ride for family style eating in unpretentious but comfortable surroundings.
Harrington Sound is ringed with gorgeous homes overlooking the placid waters of the sound. One can snorkel comfortably there or play with the parasail company that operates in the Sound. There are fine dining establishments nearby such as the renowned Tom Moore’s Tavern and the Swizzle Inn for drinks and snacks. The Perfume Factory and the Bermuda Glass-Blowing Studio are nearby as well. For leisurely tours on your mopeds exploring the glorious country side of
As far as boat rentals, there are no boat rentals on Harrington Sound. The closest place would be Blue Hole Water Sports out of Grotto Bay Hotel. There is a great little business just a few docks away from us that does water skiing and parasailing but Mr. Outerbridge does not rent out boats. His business is called Kiteski Bermuda. There is a kayak at the cottage which our guests are welcome to use. People do fish a little on the sound for small stuff but you aren't going to hook a yellowfin tuna in there.
Tuckers Town with its spectacular homes is always fun.The old town of St.Georges is only 15 minutes away and well worth a couple of days exploration: many fine buildings from the 1600’s still stand and include handsome old homes, museums and churches. Make time to swim at
Tobacco Bay and Clearwater Beach when in the St.Georges
area: both are simply lovely. We so look forward to seeing you at our pretty waterside cottage. It’s the last word in romantic escapes.
