Across Ely's Harbor you can make arrangements to go deep sea fishing or to rent a small boat for the day. The closest beach is the tranquil Somerset Long Bay, or the quiet beaches at Daniel's Head. The apartment is absolutely IMMACULATE. The bed is a King, which can be made up as two single beds if preferred. The bath is a four piece, with extra closet space to store your luggage and gifts for the family back home. All linens are provided but we ask you to bring your own beach towels please.

With cable TV, the apartment also has a private telephone. The kitchen amenities are simple: a bar fridge, microwave oven, kettle etc. and a little table for two. The nice gas barbecue on the verandah is shared with the homeowners and must be left clean after use. The bus stop is a level 5 minutes walk from the house and the ferry at Somerset Bridge is 15 minutes walk away. The bus system will take you into Hamilton in about 20 minutes. The ferry is a lovely water trip into Hamilton and takes about 20 minutes and it will take your mopeds in the hold as well.

Your moped or the bus service will take you to Church Bay or Horseshoe Bay on the South Shore as well, where umbrellas, beach chairs etc. can be rented and a concession stand operates. In the winter months, take your own little picnic to be sure of the necessary sustenance when required.

It is a lovely place to watch the sail boats drift by or watch the sun setting in splendour over the ocean and the stars come out. On the dock you can snooze on a chaise lounge and listen to the waves gently slap the concrete dock and the steps to the water's edge.
