With western sunsets, a rambling garden, and its own private beach and dock the cottage is nestled amongst tall trees with complete privacy. Simply but fully equipped and furnished, the cottage has one bedroom with twin beds (that can be made up into a king-sized bed) and a pullout sofa in the livingroom.
There is a comfortable kitchen with dining area and a private three-piece bath. The refrigerator is a full sized unit with a freezer capacity suitable for the storage of a good supply of frozen goods. No microwave oven. There is also a washing machine which attaches to the kitchen sink and does cold water washes only, please! The cottage has an iron and a hair dryer.
The Cottage will suit the guests who desire peace and tranquility above all else. For those who enjoy a walk, there are the Old Bermuda Railway scenic trails from Somerset Bridge - about ten minutes from the cottage. Somerset Village is nearby - a charming hamlet with pretty shops and nice restaurants to enjoy. Beyond the village is the Naval Dockyard with Bermuda's maritime history preserved for your edification and located on a headland with the most extraordinary views of the length of the island. Dockyard also features pretty craft shops and artisans at work, excellent locally produced books and pottery etc. and a wide array of pubs, cafes and luxurious carriage trade stores to browse through. The ferry stops here too so you can hop aboard and take a leisurely cruise into Hamilton with your mopeds in the hold.
The bus stop is an eight-minute walk away or you can walk twelve minutes to the ferry stop at Somerset Bridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world. There is a grocery store nearby, as well as all the usual facilities for sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and water skiing, fishing and para sailing near Somerset Bridge and Ireland Island. Tennis and golf courses are conveniently located as well, and motor cycles can be delivered right to your front door.
There are a number of large and small hotels in the vicinity with fine dining rooms you can enjoy for that special evening out. All over the island are pretty little cafes where a nice lunch can be had in comfort indoors or out. Small grocery stores are located in every parish, and many of them will deliver: just ask your hostess. Sandys and Somerset are charming locations for a holiday: come see us soon.
