You will have a quaint patio set to enjoy coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night and beach chairs if you choose to read in the sunshine. Whether you’re an explorer or a beach goer this convenient location will be ideal for you. Quick access to bus and ferries, grocery stores and restaurants makes for effortless day trips or fun nights out. Hiking along the cliffs, seeing beach after beach is a joy. Golfing at Port Royal Golf Course, the Southampton Princess Course and the Belmont Golf Course are all nearby. The charming hamlet of Somerset Town is 10 minutes away with shops and cafes, and just beyond the town is the 200 year old Naval Dockyard, now converted into a museum and shopping concourse with pubs, crafts market, a parasail operation, charter boats, beach facilities, etc. There are very elegant hotels and fine dining available at this end of the island as well – one does not have to go into Hamilton to enjoy a good meal or cabaret.

A mere 10 minutes is the closest beach. With breathtaking views along the way a leisurely stroll to gorgeous Church Bay is the way to go. Church Bay is known not only for its tranquil beauty but also for its superb snorkeling.

Close to home, you will have the pleasure of exploring the spectacular beaches along the southern coastline: Whale Bay and the stunning Church Bay offer wonderful South Shore snorkeling opportunities as well as pink, shell strewn beaches to explore (the famous ones such as Horseshoe Bay and Warwick Long Bay are renowned, but you will not want to miss the stunning trio of secret coves tucked between those two larger beaches- Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay and Jobson’s Cove. These three are the last word in romantic pink sand and gentle surf in splendid seclusion. Snorkeling equipment can be rented at Church Bay and several of the larger beaches such as Horseshoe). Closer than Hamilton for fine dining are the excellent facilities of The Reefs Resort in Southampton: their open-air Coconuts restaurant overlooking their private silvery sand beach will arrange a table on the beach with candles, full linens and silverware and delectable meal for your never-to-be-forgotten evening celebration. One must reserve ahead to make arrangements by calling: 441-238-0222.No reservations required for lunch however!

There are four golf courses nearby for you to play: Riddell’s Bay, The Belmont Golf Course, the Fairmont Princess Golf Club and the Port Royal Golf Course are all within 10 minutes of the property and each offers its own unique challenge.

A Southampton location is considered to be a very attractive option for visitors in the know. Although the locations in the closest proximity to the beaches of the South Shore tend to be in the most demand, the 22 mile length of the island and its width of less than a mile in most places means that access to those beaches is easy by bus or by moped and that’s only after you have savoured the pretty beaches in the immediate area…. Southampton has the distinct advantage of being close to ferry stops, and the charming village of Somerset where shops and cafes makes lingering for a while a very pleasant diversion. The remarkable renovated installation at the Naval Dockyard property (a British Navy base built in the early 1820’s) has created a plaza and shopping concourse as well as a series of excellent museums, pubs, artists workshops, book stores and the like as well as the hugely popular DOLPHIN QUEST operation. These shops and museums operations are all neatly contained in spectacularly restored historic buildings dotted throughout a park setting on the furthest west end of the island. Fast ferries and buses depart and arrive from the Dockyard facility all day long. The views from The Commissioner’s House are jaw dropping as you can see from one end of the island all the way to the other, with ocean liners sedately negotiating the Two Rock Passage , the sole opening in the reefs large enough to provide safe access to Hamilton Harbour. A visit to Bermuda without see Dockyard would not be complete.

Daniels Head Beach Park and Somerset Long Bay are quiet beaches you will want to well as The Railway Trail, a meandering paved pathway through the countryside you can explore on foot or by moped .

Fine dining would include Cambridge Beaches in Somerset and the Newport Room of the Southampton Princess Hotel, as well as nice roadside cafes for breakfast or lunch.

The City of Hamilton also has lovely places to dine and shop, and in the summer months through to October, Harbour Nights on Front Street on Wednesday evenings is a sparkling outdoor market event. With live music, delicious food and unusual locally made items to buy, the street is shut to vehicular traffic and the better shops remain open. Everyone congregates happily til 10 pm. and then drifts off to window-shop, or investigate the night clubs, bars and cafes. The city is easily reached by bus, ferry or moped, with taxis available to whisk you away home at the end of the evening.

Other great places to dine would include:

Beau Rivage- Newstead Hotel , Greg Steak House, Waterlot Inn, Ascots, The Reefs,

New Port Room, Southampton Princess, Henry V111 Restaurant, Mickeys on the Beach,

Four ways Inn, Barracuda Grill , Bouchee  -  this restaurant is also great for Sunday Breakfast , Somerset Country Squire in Somerset,Pompano Hotel Restaurant .New places are opening all the time.
