The pretty little cottage is perched at the water’s edge, overlooking Harrington Sound near the village of Flatts.

With A/C and a ceiling fan, as well as a heater, the cottage has a four poster double maple bed with a new mattress, and its own little three piece bath with shower (and hair dryer so you don’t have to pack one).

The cottage has its own private phone line with a phone jack, and television service (no cable). Wireless internet is available.

In the kitchenette we have a coffee maker, kettle, toaster oven, clock radio, small fridge/stove unit (freezer space small with only ice trays), hot plate and an iron and ironing board. In the garden there is a barbecue as well (coals need to be purchased), so you can lounge and watch the para-sailers float by while your steaks sizzle.

The wonderfully clear water off the dock is about 5 feet deep. There is NO FISHING permitted from this property, including from the dock. 2 towels are provided for swimming at the dock. There is also a two-seater kayak available for guests of C22 only, along with two life jackets. If you prefer to lounge on the waterfront deck and dock, there are four chairs (2 lounge chairs) for you to use and relax by the water.

There are no sleeping facilities for children as the unit suits a single person or a couple only (the unit is about 260 square feet). There is no formal closet but the unit has hooks on backs of doors.

Bus stop is across the street outside the main house driveway. Flatts Village is less than a 1/4 mile walk to restaurants, aquarium, post office and tiny convenience store. Bus tokens can be purchased from the post office. There are many other bus routes that run through Flatts so getting around is never a problem.

Arrangements can be made for maid service/change of linens (for an extra charge) for stays longer than 1 week.

Nearby Attractions

Nearest beaches are: Gibbet’s Beach in Flatts which is within walking distance as well as Shelly Bay – a calm and tranquil North Shore Beach and John Smith’s Bay which is on the South Shore, with deep soft sand, gentle surf and an excellent swimming and snorkeling beach. Both are 5 minutes by bike. Flatts Village is within walking distance and there you can do a little shopping, or have a casual meal. The bus stop is just beyond the garden gate. Flatts Village now has a pizzeria, take-out cafe, Italian restaurant and of course the 1926 Aquarium with its attached museum and mini-zoo. Nearest convenience store is Twins Variety on Flatts Hill (which is walking distance and open early and till late evenings), and Harrington Hundreds Grocery – 5 minutes on bike. The Specialty Inn on South Road at Collectors Hill is a 5 minute moped ride for family style eating in unpretentious but comfortable surroundings.

Harrington Sound is ringed with gorgeous homes overlooking the placid waters of the sound. One can snorkel comfortably there or play with the parasail company that operates in the Sound. There are fine dining establishments nearby such as the renowned Tom Moore’s Tavern and the Swizzle Inn for drinks and snacks. The Perfume Factory and the Bermuda Glass-Blowing Studio are nearby as well.

As far as boat rentals, there are no boat rentals on Harrington Sound. The closest place would be Blue Hole Water Sports out of Grotto Bay Hotel.

Tucker’s Town with its spectacular homes is always fun. The old town of St. George’s is only 15 minutes away and well worth a couple of days exploration: many fine buildings from the 1600’s still stand and include handsome old homes, museums and churches. Make time to swim at Tobacco Bay and Clearwater Beach when in the St. George’s area: both are simply lovely. We so look forward to seeing you at our pretty waterside cottage. It’s the last word in romantic escapes.

Our stay in Bermuda was lovely. The cottage worked very well for us.

Bermuda was amazing! We actually got engaged while on the trip at The Reefs. C22 was adorable, we loved being on the water. The homeowners were nice and extended our check out time which we really appreciated!

Perfect time

We enjoyed a magical stay at C22 - very tranquil with a constant spectacle of colourful fish in clear turquoise waters and a stunning view. A cheeky bird joined us each morning to feed from my finger. Our visit was made especially memorable by family nearby and the Tall Ships sailing by.

Wonderful time!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at C22, this past weekend. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We’re already making plans to return later this year or early next.

C22 was amazing. [The home owner] is an incredible landlord, and ensured we were happy with the accommodations. C22 is a little piece of paradise, and definitely home away from home. Location was perfect, and the unit had everything we could possibly need! I would most certainly stay again, and have already referred people to bermuda rentals! Many thanks!

Absolutely wonderful!!

Our stay at C22 was wonderful and we would love to stay there again some day. It was very comfortable and had everything we had hoped for. Having the Kayaks at our disposal was also a real bonus. Plus, snorkeling right off the dock and in the evenings, we were treated with beautiful moon-lit displays from the local .. I believe they were Spotted Eagle Rays. All in all .. a great experience. We hope to be touch with you again someday soon.

Absolutely gorgeous!

We came to Bermuda over Bermuda day for a week. It was our first time to the island and we were completely blown away! The scenery is gorgeous, the water – crystal clear, snorkeling – amazing, and the people are so nice, friendly and helpful it resonated happiness throughout our stay. This cottage is a jewel and could not have asked for anything more. We cannot wait to come back!

My husband and I planned to spend Christmas week at Smith’s Waterside Cottage in Flatt’s Village, Bermuda. I was a bit nervous thinking I’d miss my home and a large Christmas tree. I had no idea what lay in store for us – a lovely sea-side cottage nestled beside the waters of Harrington Sound. Our daughter had it all thought out and presented us with a small Christmas tree and pointsettia when we arrived. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed and we loved the architecture and the setting. We spent the week sightseeing beautiful Bermuda and the rest of the time sitting on “the dock of the bay” enjoying the spectacular view and the tranquility. What a fabulous way to spend Christmas week!

Had a great time!!!

My husband and I stayed at C22 cottage in august 2012 and had a great time. The cottage was very clean, bed was comfortable, had a coffe maker, toaster oven, refrig. table for 2 and it’s location is great. Right on the Harrington Sound. The bus stops across the street to get into Hamilton where you connect to another bus to get to the south shore beaches which is a must. Flatts village is a quaint town, with a couple of good restaurants “Rustico” along with the aquarium and nearby beaches. Room also has AC and the owners were very nice and welcoming.
