Nearby Attractions

The bus stop going on both directions is right outside the driveway of the house. The bus runs every 15 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends.

Shopping in the neighbourhood includes a supermarket at the Shelly Bay Plaza, a Pizza Parlour for sit down meals. 2 minutes before that is a small convenience store and café at the Esso Service Center at the end of Radnor Road. One half mile away there is another convenience store which is open until midnight – great for bread and milk. Shelly Bay Marketplace for groceries which also sells liquor, wines, beer and ice is a mere 15 minute walk away.

All you need is within walking distance of this location: Post office, groceries, liquor, and churches. One of the best kept secrets in all of Bermuda, Shelly Bay Beach, is less than 5 minutes away by bus. It’s never crowded, it has trees to cover oneself from the sun if needed, and due to the fact that it’s on a bay the water is very calm, making it very safe for swimming and snorkeling. The Bermuda Aquarium & Zoo in Flatt’s Village which is 10 minutes by bus is well worth the visit its child friendly and also house a gift shop with bus tickets and bus passes for sale as well as a Coffee Bar overlooking the water for lunch with hot and cold sandwiches.

Mopeds can be rented from Smatt’s at Tucker’s Point – they also will deliver and pick up at your location.

Flatts Village is ten minutes away by bus (and is delightful village) with nice places to eat (The Village Pantry Restaurant which serves international food and Rustico which offers Italian cuisine), and 4 Star Pizza who will deliver to your unit.

To the East visit Grotto Bay Beach Club for sports activities which include tennis courts (which can be booked at reasonable rates), diving, sailing, windsurfing and is five minutes away by bus. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner or spend the day and enjoy the water sports or booked a massage at Natura Spa located in the Caves of Grotto Bay.

Golfers will enjoy Ocean View Course in Devonshire and there are numerous public courses as well, please email Karen and she will book your golf game for you: bermudatees@northrock.bm

Hiking is enjoyable at Ferry Reach and St. David’s Head, two of the larger and more interesting parks. There is also Spittal Pond Bird Sanctuary and endless coastline areas to walk. Tobacco Bay in St. George’s is a great beach year round – sheltered and with marvellous numbers of fish. Close by is John Smith’s Bay- a South Shore beach with pinkish sand.

My wife and I stayed here with another couple, and the house was incredible. The views from both the balcony and the backyard are incredible. We spent every morning eating breakfast on the balcony and capped off almost every evening on the back porch watching the sunset and listening to the tree frogs. Easy access to the Railway Trail provides a great place to run/walk, and we also swam off the nearby dock multiple times. We used the bus/ferry system the entire week, and being so close to the bus stops worked out very well. We were there during the warmest part of the year, and the house does get a bit stuffy in the middle of the day if you are used to central AC. But if we were home during the day (which was rare), we would sit in the shade on the back porch and it was very comfortable out there. In the evenings the temperature dropped enough to make sleeping comfortable, especially with the fans provided in the house. Overall, the house exceeded every single expectation we had.

We just finished our vacation in Bermuda to EO5 and wanted to let you know that it exceeded our expectations, and made for a terrific 25th Anniversary stay. [The home owner] was more than wonderful — and in fact took us to the grocery store the day we arrived — way above and beyond. And she’d purchased extra coffee! The views from the unit are unbelievable — so much so that we not only ate breakfast in just to enjoy them — but most evenings, too! The unit’s convenience could not be matched — and even though it was on North Shore Rd, there was absolutely no street noise. We hope to make a return visit, and would certainly want to stay there again. The unit was as described, the MBR was a good size and comfortable, the bathroom immaculate and a good size. The wifi/tv connections all worked great, which these days is terrific.

Great place

Had enough of everything, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, towels, dishes, games, and information. Owners were friendly and accommodating.

Highly recommend

Stayed at E05 in Bermuda for 1 week in late March 2016. The apartment was perfect in so many ways. The landlords were extremely welcoming and greeted us the night we arrived and drove us to a grocery store in their personal car. The location of this property is ideal. We had debated about staying closer to Hamilton or in Sandy’s parish and once we got orientated with the island we were so glad we chose this rental. Bus stops are located immediately outside of the property in both directions (into Hamilton or St.George’s Parish). The bus lines that run along this road (#10 and #11) run the latest into the evening out of any bus line on the island. The property is very relaxing as it is away from the noisy Hamilton. Every night you can hear the whistling of tree frogs and the crashing of waves. The property backs onto the North Shore and a quick (steep) walk down allows you to access the railway trail. We walked this path both ways many evenings and enjoyed the beautiful Bermudian waters, sunsets and the peaceful location of this property. The wifi was very strong. I was able to Facetime with family back home. I would highly recommend this property.

Loved everything!

We’re wrapping up our 5-night stay here and have loved staying in these guest quarters. The view of the ocean right outside the back door is gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and hospitable – just like the lovely Bermudian people. The sound of the whistling frogs every night has made the perfect soundtrack to a relaxing vacation. We rented a scooter and drove all over the island exploring parks and beaches along the way. A convenience store is right across the street, two restaurants are closeby, as is a grocery store and a dollar store – crucial for cheap sunglasses. The bus stops right outside as well. The hidden gem is the nature path right down the steps that leads to spectacular sunset views. Highly recommended!

Definitely recommend this property

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in the summer of 2013. We went to a different beach each day. We spent the mornings in the backyard having breakfast with Jazz the orange cat! days were spent at a different beach, and afternoons in the backyard with cheese and wine! we do recommend this as a spectacular place to stay. We can’t wait to go back!

Place was completely perfect!

My wife and I were here last week and can’t wait to come back. The owners are every bit as nice and helpful as others have mentioned. The patio is perfect for early morning coffee and watching for arriving cruise ships, and the occasional cargo ship coming or going. The bus stop, and the frequent buses, couldn’t be more convenient. And Bermudians are truly warm, friendly people – very respectful of visitors and each other. Where else could you let your young children take the bus to and from scholl and not be worried?

This rental was perfect for us. Quiet, private, clean and views to die for. Buses and taxis work very well from this property which is a great way to get to know the locals. The owners are super nice and accommodating. John Smith’s beach is a pretty little cove with pink sand not very far away by bus and very quiet – unlike the south shore beaches! A little variety is a short walk away and a bigger supermarket is a short bus ride or a 15 minute walk away. All the popular activities and sites are easily accessible by the bus and ferry systems and the bus drivers are friendly and helpful and will tell you when your stop is coming up if you ask them to. Rent a scooter if you want, but for a much more carefree time just use the buses, ferries and taxis. Staying here was far better than staying at a crowded resort.
