Nearby Attractions

Ten minutes away by bus, cycle or taxi from the historic town of St. George’s, Clearwater Beach, restaurants, grocery stores, and a movie theatre the apartment is within walking distance of the bus routes. There is a restaurant in St. David’s that is walking distance from the apartment called Eliana’s – very pleasant!

The old town of St. George’s features many attractions. Every Tuesday night when the cruise ships arrive there are vendors in the Town Square and the shops stay open until 9 pm. There are walking tours daily and a special re-enactment of the old ducking stool – a punishment reserved for nagging or gossiping women from a long time ago! Every street offers wonderful old houses perched right on the road allowance or set deep in lush gardens. Many buildings are old, dating from the 1600′s and 1700′s. Development in the old town has been restricted so one has the pleasure of savoring an historical setting unmarred by inappropriate development. There are museums, old government buildings and meeting halls, and handsome forts to explore in St. George’s, as well as the replica of the small ship that rescued the early settlers- this is a particular hit with children, we find… The oldest church in the Western hemisphere is the truly lovely St. Peter’s Church with its exceptional timbered interiors, handsome collections of silver and furniture, and the flanking graveyard that holds so many of the island’s earliest settlers. Good shopping, restaurants, the waterfront, museums, churches, beautiful beaches and the St. George’s golf course are all located within walking distance.

St. George’s has every convenience for the visitor combined with a beautiful harbour setting. There is a shuttle service provided in the St. George’s area for a nominal charge, and the main bus service is about a 5 minute walk and will take you to all points on the island. The buses into St. David's stop running at 6pm. To return after 6pm, catch the bus into St. George's late into the evening and take a cab for the short run over to the cottage.

For the independent adventurer, there are several cycle liveries close by for those wanting to rent scooters, pedal bikes or the new electric cars on the island. Boat and land tours are available as well and a ferry service runs between St. George’s and Dockyard 7 days a week.

Dockyard is splendid collection of buildings dating from the early 1800’s used by the British Navy to re-provision their ships. Now converted to museums, shops and artisans studios, a trip to Dockyard is a must- and to get their by ferry will combine the pleasures of a cruise, with stunning scenery and a fascinating glimpse into Bermuda’s colonial past.

Nearby local restaurants in St. George’s include San Giorgios, Carriage House, Freddies, Temptations as well as the Waterfront Cafe. There is also an Internet Cafe on Water Street called Caffe Latte.

We were absolute in awe with the property!! The garden is well kept and the waterfront deck patio is the best feature. We love coming back to relax and eat our dinners outside every night after a long day exploring the island. The cottage is VERY clean and beautifully decorated... the bed is super comfortable with clean linen... the kitchen has everything that we need. The bus stop is just a short walk to the main road. Our favorite beaches near the cottage were Tobacco Bay and Cooper's Island where we found a secluded beach off the main path. It was pure paradise... imagine in August and there were only 6 other people on the beach with us. We also loved the Crystal Cave tour and visited the Blue Hole Park and Walsingham Nature Reserve where I had the chance of a lifetime to swim in the cave!! Be sure to bring LARGE flash lights!! St. George's has so much rich history to see... be sure to take the tour to hear all the stories. We feel that this is the best side of the island to stay if you're in to exploring the beauty and history of the island... and away from the busy touristy spots like Hamilton or the Southside beaches. The owners were off the island but they had an employee to greet and help us with whatever we need. He was super helpful, he took us to grocery store on our first day there and drop us off in St. George's the next day to get our bus passes NOTE: bus #6 in and out of St. David's is a little confusing but we figured it out. Thank you so much for having us stay at your beautiful property.

Perfect holiday cottage

We had the most wonderful time in this beautiful cottage. We had reservations as we have never rented in Bermuda before, but we needn't have worried as it was the most perfect place to stay. The cottage behind the main house which is right on the waterfront, and you are just a few steps from the large deck area which was all ours to use during our stay, with stunning views across to St Georges. The property was perfect for the two of us and in a great location, very peaceful and relaxing. The homeowners were delightful, they were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel very at home. The Property was lovely, spotlessly clean and in a fantastic location, and had absolutely everything we could need. They even provided a mobile phone with some credit on it, which came in very useful. We spent most evenings sitting on the patio taking in the beautiful views across to St Georges. The beaches nearby on Cooper Island are stunning, very quiet and we think some of the best on the island, often we had the whole beach to ourselves! We had pre booked a scooter and this was delivered the first morning, although there is a bus stop very close by. St Georges is a 10 minute scooter ride and Hamilton about 30 mins. We will definately be returning to this beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of Bermuda.

On the quiet, beautiful island of St David’s off the beaten tourist path and along St George’s Harbour you’ll find this great guest house. The owners are some of the nicest people and go to great lengths to make you feel at home. The guest house is well stocked and very well kept as is the rest of their property. Their private waterfront patio overlooks St George’s Harbour, has stunning views of the town of St. George’s and the sunset (and sunrise during the summer months), and access to the harbour for swimming/snorkeling. I highly recommend going to Coopers Island for breathtaking views and most likely your own personal secluded beach. I recommend getting a map of the house location to help the taxi driver from the airport and the rest of your stay.

Ever imagine living the life of a millionaire? That’s what we did when we rented this slice of paradise from the home owners. The cottage is actually a separate building set back from the main house where the home owners live. There are water views from both the bedroom and kitchen area but the big bonus is the patio, pictured in the posting, which actually protrudes into the bay. In 3 or 4 short steps you’re in the clear waters of St. Georges harbor. There is nothing not to like about the cottage itself which is modern, amply sized well-appointed and just short of lavish in its furniture and fixtures. The property itself is semi-secluded and private, yet close to a bus stop (very important). If you are concerned looking at the map and noticing the proximity to the airport, do not be. Noise was not an issue. The home owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but then so are all Bermudians – they will restore your faith in humanity!

The apartment that we stayed at in Bermuda was beautiful, very clean and a great location. The owners were also very kind and took us on a small tour when we arrived and pointed out local restaurants and beaches.
