The property faces the Great Sound and the views from the house are just breathtaking; the sunrise is never to  be forgotten. The trip to sandy beaches is as close as Hog Bay  Park – a 10 minute walk on the South Shore Coast. If you have mopeds or a  bus pass, all the great beaches of the South Coast are within a 10 to 15-minute ride. The barbecue and the moon-rise at the end of the day will  be your great reward, once the clouds have lost their colour and the  stars have come out. Rent W01 and W01A together for increased  family and friend capacity!

Nearby Attractions

The bus stop is just at the end of the road from the apartment – two stops going west and two going east which are 5 and 8 minutes away respectively (normal walking). There is a grocery store nearby, as well as all the usual facilities for sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and water skiing, fishing and para-sailing near Somerset Bridge and Ireland Island. Tennis and golf courses (Port Royal and Riddell’s Bay, as well as the Fairmont Southampton) are conveniently located as well, and motor cycles can be delivered right to your front door. The Dockyard Ferry is a 20 minute ride away, and another 20 minutes by ferry to Hamilton. By moped, Hamilton is approximately 25 minutes away.

There is also a free shuttle service to the fast ferry during the morning busy period only. This shuttle can be caught from the eastward bus stop.

Last bus leaves Hamilton at midnight; schedules available online and upon arrival.

The nearby grocery store is The Maxi Mart, a full sized grocery store that also sells alcoholic beverages and has an ATM just outside.

The bus will take you to Horseshoe Bay in just a few minutes, if you don’t rent mopeds to get around.

The apartment will suit guests who desire peace and tranquility above all else. For those who enjoy a walk, there are the Old Bermuda Railway scenic trails from Somerset Bridge – about ten minutes from the cottage. The Trail is famous because vehicular traffic is not permitted: just hikers, cyclists and mopeds. Somerset Village is nearby – a charming hamlet with pretty shops and nice restaurants to enjoy.

Beyond the village is the Naval Dockyard with Bermuda’s maritime history preserved for you to happily explore. Dockyard also features pretty craft shops and artisans at work, excellent locally produced books and pottery etc. and a wide array of pubs, cafes and luxurious carriage trade stores to browse through. The ferry stops here as well, so you can hop aboard and take a leisurely cruise into Hamilton with your mopeds in the hold.

Beautiful and peaceful location

We had a terrific stay at W01A. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The hosts were very nice and helpful but unobtrusive. The apartment was pretty much as expected. There was no air conditioning in one bedroom which the owners remedied immediately. The kitchen area (cabinets) was a little worn but nothing serious. The location was generally good, would have been better if buses were more reliable, a Bermuda wide problem right now with buses breaking down. With a scooter it would be fine though my wife and daughter didn't want to risk it.

Simply perfect

We had never been to Bermuda but Fiona assured us that this was a beautiful home with a lovely owner who could help us navigate the beautiful island. She was spot on !! From the moment we arrived, the homeowner made us feel like it was our home. Then she took us for a drive to become familiar with the area and followed that by taking us to the store so we could stock up on groceries. She provided excellent dinner suggestions, beach locations and sightseeing spots. When we asked about transportation, she provided us with numbers of drivers she knew and then drove us to the post office so we could buy bus passes for the week The home is beautiful and was spotless. The AC worked perfectly and what a joy to have a washer and dryer when travelling with kids. Kitchen was perfect and we loved having breakfast there in the morning. And the location...Right on the water with the most beautiful view you could ever hope for There was quick access to bus stops and the rail-trail . Just a short walk west to a small shop with freshly baked scones and hot dark roast coffee. We were easily able to use the bus, ferries and taxis from our location to access the whole island easily. On the only night when we got stuck at a bus stop, the homeowner came out and picked us up to get us to dinner on time...the women is a saint. Our entire family agreed, this was the best vacation we have ever had and plan on returning every year You could search the length of the island and not find a more beautiful spot or a more kind and generous owner. Thank you for giving us the perfect vacation

Could not ask for a more beautiful location, accomodation and wonderful welcome!

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the homeowner and a glorious view of the Great Sound. The apartment was much larger than we had imagined from the photos and very well equipped. We cooked most of our meals so we were thrilled with the full kitchen. The washer/dryer was definitely a plus as we swam and snorkeled off the front of the property almost every day. The bedroom and bathroom were huge and the A/C worked well - a must during August in Bermuda! We didn't have any need to call on the homeowner while we were there and were left to "make ourselves at home". And we did! The outdoor area was simply beautiful - a hammock, lounge chairs and a small table and chairs where we enjoyed sunrises over morning coffee. We left (very reluctantly) after our 4-night stay and the homeowner came down to see us off and give us a big hug! The taxi driver we used (suggested in our paperwork) was Mr Melvin Outerbridge and he was prompt, super nice and very professional. In all it was the highlight of our time in Bermuda and we will DEFINITELY be returning to stay at W01 again. Thank you so very much! - Josephine & Mike

Perfect place with great homeowners

My wife Brenda and I just had a fabulous time at W01. The location was perfect and so picturesque. We had a perfect view of the great sound and enjoyed seeing the sun come up each morning. Our hosts were so gracious and helpful. From restaurant recommendations to sightseeing, their knowledge was invaluable. The studio apartment was perfect for us. We had plenty of room and every thing was very comfortable. Our stay was two weeks long and the location on the island was perfect for us also. I rented a scooter for the entire time and we spent most of our days exploring the island. We would absolutely stay there again and probably will. And be sure to check out Henry VIII brunch on Sunday, Art Mel’s Spicy Dicy for the best fish sandwich on the island and of course the Swizzle Inn. Also Horseshoe bay Beach is the best.

Magical Stay!

My husband and I stayed in the one bedroom rental for 3 nights. As soon as our taxi pulled up we greeted by the most picturesque view! We felt at home in the spacious and clean accommodations. We didn't do any cooking but the kitchenette came in handy to store some snacks, drinks, and breakfast items which we had the pleasure to enjoy on out outside patio as we watched the sunrise in the mornings. We can't say enough about our gracious host. She made sure that we everything that we needed and were c comfortable throughout our entire stay. We'd stay there again without hesitation the next time we visit and highly recommend this location for all others!

Wonderful Visit!!

We had a WONDERFUL time at W01A!! The homeowners were so welcoming and kind and the property was absolutely beautiful. The views were to die for and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the lawn, and swimming below. Pictures of the view do not do it justice! The property was as described accurately in the listing. There were 3 in our party, a couple traveling with a friend. The property accommodated the 3 of us nicely within the 2 bedrooms. We got great use out of the kitchen as well as meals on the lawn! The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. It is conveniently located in sandy's parish (about 40 mins from the airport). Close walk to bus route (~5 mins) and ~10 min walk to grocery store. We also enjoyed walking to port royal golf course ~20 min. We highly definitely recommend Bermuda Accommodations to others as well as the W01A' property. And hope to be back soon.

Wonderful spot!

What a lovely place to stay! Our hostess could not have been more gracious and welcoming. The comfortable apartment was spotless, well equipped, with wonderful views of the Great Sound and with waterfront at the bottom of the lawn. Within easy walking distance were groceries, bus stops, Post Office, the Railway Trail, a marina and Hog Bay Park. Such a beautiful location, you might be tempted to just relax in the hammock!

I really do not like filling out surveys, but our trip to Bermuda was wonderful. We stayed in the one bedroom of W01. It is a beautiful place, the owners are lovely, we hope to go back next year. The apartment is really the size of a home, clean, modern and has an amazing view. If people want a quiet relaxing vacation in Bermuda this apartment is perfect. We have absolutely no complaints, the pictures online are very accurate but cannot give you the real feel of the actual large size of the spaces. While overlooking the water, it is not on a beach, which did not concern us, but you can walk down to the water. W01 probably is not for very small children as the house sits on a small cliff. We have been to Bermuda at least 15 times and never stayed in such beautiful place.
