The pool is on the same level with pretty views and additional cooking facilities in the very well appointed adjacent cabana. It’s difficult to overstate the handsome amenities the home offers: every attention to your comfort has been made with state of the art conveniences. There are also 3 friendly dogs! There is a little sandy beach, a dock were you can fish, and a deep sea fisherman who moors nearby who will sell you the catch of the day, or take you on his chartered excursions so you can catch your own!

This property offers wireless internet, a television with Netflix, a kitchenette which includes a fridge, a convection microwave oven, stove, sink, blender, toaster, and coffee press. There is a BBQ and a sink in the cabana at the pool. Please note that all pool amenities are shared with the home owner.

For your entertainment, there is excellent dining and a great bar at Cambridge Beaches Resort nearby. Somerset Village has casual outdoor restaurants (The Country Squire and the Salt Rock Grill) as well as grocery stores and shopping. The house is on a good bus line and close to the ferry system, the major attraction of Dockyard- as well as all the prime South Shore beaches to the east, with dining establishments arrayed down the South Shore coastline.

Other great places to Dine would include:
Beau-Rivaget - Newstead Hotel, Lobster Pot, Greg Steak House, Waterlot Inn, Ascots, New Port Room, Fairmont Southampton, Henry VIII Restaurant, Four Ways Inn, Barracuda Grill, Bouchee (this restaurant is also great for Sunday Breakfast), Pompano Hotel Restaurant. Casual dining can be enjoyed at "Traditions Cafe", the "Frog and Onion Pub", and the "Freeport Restaurant" which is 10 minutes away at Dockyard.

Mopeds can be rented nearby at Cambridge Beaches Resort and there is a nice spa there as well for a special treat! Estimated taxi time: 45 minutes to the house by taxi from the airport.

Nearby Attractions
Grocery stores and little restaurants are a short 5 minute drive away with fabulous dining options in Somerset village, Dockyard and at the many fine restaurants down the south shore including Pompano, The Reefs, Henry VIII, The Fairmont Southampton (5 restaurants there including the fabled Newport Room), the Waterlot Inn, and many others. Please note that Cambridge Beaches has a no children policy, so children under 16 will not be able to dine there. Cambridge Beaches Dining Room – last sitting for dinner is 9-9:15pm. Call 1-441-234-0331 when you arrive to make a reservation.

Interesting places to see in the vicinity would include Dockyard. The extraordinary installation features a collection of spectacular buildings erected for navy re-provisioning in the very early 1800’s. The Maritime Museum out at Dockyard on Ireland Island has fascinating displays of items from Bermuda’s extraordinarily colorful past, fully restored. The Commissioners House is an iron structure with the most commanding view of the island to be seen anywhere- from end to end. Other handsome buildings now house art galleries, museums, cafes, artist’s workshops, theaters and pubs as well as a major ferry stop that will whisk you into Hamilton and on to St. George’s. Heading east by road towards Hamilton, you will be charmed with the town of Somerset- it has a post office and pharmacy, nice places to dine and little shops where you can re-provision while admiring the views and the mangrove-edged beach. Ely’s Harbour at Somerset Bridge has a small marina where you can rent boats and explore the multitude of small islands just offshore including Cathedral Rocks. A bus-ferry pass to get around would be a good thing to have if mopeds are not your style!

The Railway Trail is nearby as well, and offers a peek into Old Bermuda, as the trail wends away from the main road and past some fascinating old homes and farms with jaw dropping views. The grand beaches at Horseshoe, Warwick Long Bay and Elbow are a short bus or moped ride away and some are serviced public beaches with cafes, beach chair and umbrella rentals available. The Watford Bridge is nearby as well- you can walk, or hop on the bus to connect. The local supermarket is close by as well and spirits are sold until 9pm. Groceries can be purchased there until midnight.

Perfect stay!

We could not have asked for more perfect hosts during our incredible stay at W53 and time in Bermuda. It was very hard to leave your beautiful country! Many thanks for the introduction to the homeowners whom we now consider friends.

We are back from Bermuda – all went exceedingly well – the Bermudians are lovely people and W53 was a delightful choice. [The home owners] couldn’t have been more accommodating and gracious. We will definitely refer your service to our friends and would love it if you gave W53 the high recommendation it deserves.

This place is awesome! The hosts are absolutely amazing. We were on our honeymoon a week after the hurricane and they made our stay so wonderful. We had a blast! Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Bermuda is such a beautiful island and the people are all so friendly. We hope to come back soon!

My girl friend and I stay at w53 in early July 2014 The host impressed me as soon as we got out of the cab with some rum swizzles. He showed us around the property the dogs are really cool. It really almost felt like we were staying with family or a friend. The room offered everything you need and it was a comfortable, charming, welcoming place to return to after a day of being out and about. The pool is amazing and always clean and at night the pool lights looked great. The host had kayaks snorkeling equipment and beach towels available for use. We rented a scooter for the week and saw the whole island. The dockyard was only 15 minutes away on the scooter. We had a fantastic vacation in Bermuda!

Comfortable and nicely appointed

My wife and I had a four-night stay at “W53″ in June, 2014. The owners, are exceptionally gracious and generous hosts. The suite is comfortable and nicely appointed, similar in size and amenities to a hotel room we might have rented for three times the price. It is attached to the main house on the second level, next to the pool. Direct access to the pool also provides a private entrance. Cooking facilities are limited – no cook-top or oven – but we were able to prepare two nice dinners on the grill. Impeccably fresh fish can be purchased from either of two fishermen. We would advise renting scooters. The house is a short walk from the #7 and #8 bus stop; service is limited in the evenings, and can be crowded during the day. Service to the Dockyard, Somerset and Hamilton is more frequent than service to the beaches and resorts. We do not advise trying to walk on the main road, which is narrow and dangerous. The owners have a relationship with a local taxi driver, who is most gracious and accommodating. The house looks on Elys (pronounced”eeleys”) Harbor. It faces west, so has an excellent view of the sunset. There is a patch of private beach and a dock. Had the weather cooperated, we would have paddled or swam across to what we understand is excellent snorkeling. There was no need to pack our fins or non-prescription masks. The hosts also provide beach towels. We highly recommend “W53” for couples who want to be a bit off the beaten track and enjoy an authentic Bermuda experience.
