The second bedroom has twin beds which cannot be assembled into a king, due to their design. The bathroom is just outside the bedroom door.
The third bedroom has an outside entrance, with a queen-size bed, flat screen TV, en-suite bathroom, and walk-in closet.
All 3 bathrooms have ceiling light/fan/heater units, and hair dryers.

Living Room: Comfortable furniture with flat screen TV and piano.

Kitchen: Modern kitchen includes Thermador double ovens, Wolf gas 5-burner cook-top, side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, Kitchen Aid mixer, blender, and is fully-equipped with cookware and utensils. The pantry is stocked with basics, and the refrigerator has many condiments. There is a round table in the dining area, which seats 6 comfortably and has a small TV. A gas barbecue is located outside the kitchen door, useful for grilling some fantastic meals.

Porch: Located right off the kitchen with a table and 6 chairs to have meals, while enjoying the ocean views.

Laundry room: Adjacent to the kitchen with new washer and dryer, and a laundry sink.

This beautiful house is equipped with cable TV, wireless internet access, stand-by generator should there be loss of power, split-unit air conditioners and ceiling fans in all rooms except bathrooms.

There is a blow-up mattress in the house which could accommodate a child only, if needed. There are 4 beach chairs and there is also a supply of beach towels.

Nearby Attractions

John Smith’s Bay is a well kept local secret- a quiet beach with deep soft pink sands that slope into quiet waters without the buffeting of heavy wave action or undertows. Locals like to take huge picnic baskets to the beach in the early evening when all the tourists have disappeared back to their hotels: dinner is served on a blanket on the sand as the sun goes down and the stars come out. You’ll meet some very pleasant well-fed neighbours if you choose to join them, bobbing about like corks in the gentle swells at the end of the day. Smith’s Parish is adjacent to the Hamilton Parish enclave of the rich and famous in Tucker’s Town- you’ll enjoy touring this area with its magnificent homes, vast wooded hills and the sweeping golf courses.

The bus service by C55 runs every 30 minutes. There is a bus stop heading west to Hamilton just a couple of minutes walk from the property, across from Watch Hill Park. There is another bus stop down by Harrington Hundreds Grocery which is a fine food emporium, distinguishing themselves by offering a full delivery service including beer, wine and spirits. Bus stops heading east towards St. George’s or the airport are on the property’s side of South Road, across from Watch Hill Park. John Smith’s beach is about a 10 minute walk from the house. The Specialty Inn, a family style restaurant with delicious hamburgers, is about a 5 minutes ride down South Road at the crossroads of South Shore Road and Collector’s Hill. You may see movie stars here too: its down-home atmosphere belies the delicious local fare that is served here.

Flatts Village is also about a 5 minutes ride away: Rustico, one of the best Italian restaurants on the island is located in the village, as is Pizza Chef (which delivers). The 1926 Aquarium, small zoo and museum can also be found in Flatts: a delectable, small scale exploration of what the island is and has been in the past. The tidal wash under the little bridge at Flatts and the outlet from Harrington Sounds is always interesting to observe. Other good restaurants in the area would include Tom Moore’s Tavern, Ariel Sands and the dining at Pink Beach.

St. Mark’s Anglican church and St. Patrick’s Catholic church also about 5 minutes ride from here on South Road. The South Shore Road in this area heading east toward John Smith’s and Tucker’s Town (Mid Ocean Golf Club) is relatively quiet, as it’s not a major through road, so it’s great for walking along the coastal road admiring ocean views at every turn.

Spittal Pond Nature Reserve is only 5 minutes walk from the house and is an extraordinary park in that migratory birds flock to the marsh, sunk between the coastal hills and the ridge along which the South Road meanders. The quiet is absolute and the collection of native species means that you have a feel for what the original settlers experienced when they arrived- the low palmetto trees, the bay grape plants, the scent of deep vegetation underfoot, and the flowers scrambling up into the sunlight. The coastline here is quiet wild- rock pools and crashing waves, driftwood and the reefs clearly apparent above the swells. Bring stout shoes, drinks and sunscreen and go exploring!

If you enjoy hiking, pick up the Davidson tour book featured on the website. Bermuda has an Arboretum, a Botanical Garden to investigate, and no end of fascinating out of the way areas most visitors never get to see. There are plenty of taxis at the airport- we have a few we like to refer you to because they have provided exceptional services to guests in the past- just ask us to refer you on to them. Tell driver that the house is on South Shore, Smith’s, short distance past John Smith’s Beach. You don’t need to use phone cards to call locally: use the house phone – rates are listed in the house information package. The house doesn’t get good cell reception anyway.

Paper towels etc. are all at the house and available at the grocery store as well. We also leave some general drug store items, such as band aids etc. in the cabinets. The house is well supplied, but if there is something else you require, everything is available in Bermuda. The owners leave an information package including brochures/maps, and you can get any additional information at the various tourist kiosks around the island. Tennis courts can be reserved at Grotto Bay Resort. Pomander Gate Tennis Club in Paget offers temporary memberships to visitors for $35 for the week. Courts can be booked Mon-Fri in mornings and possibly early afternoons which are non-peak times for the regular members.

We have a property manager who will run errands for you but please note: his charges are above and beyond the rental rates. If you leave belongings behind or want to arrange something extra to be delivered to the house, you will be presented with a bill for his hourly rates and services and it will be paid in cash on the spot, or deducted from your damage deposit. Please note that this house requires a lease and a deposit that includes a refundable $1,000.00/week damage security payment. The balance is paid 8 weeks prior to the tenancy commencing.

Wonderful time at the perfect house

We had a wonderful time- your house is perfect and the view unsurpassed. We had 14 days of exploring every nook and cranny. Our favorites are St. Catherine's Beach and Cooper's Reserve. We highly recommend both of them. Also, we used the Hitch App (like Uber) and I would advise all to use. Thank you for taking good care of us and the house.

Wonderful visit with amazing views

Staying at your beautiful home was such a gift that enhanced an already wonderful first visit/first impression of your lovely island. I will definitely return for a visit. Sitting out here on the veranda each morning to receive the day was truly the best part of each day. C55 defines the beauty and warmest hospitality of Bermuda

Well worth it!

Being a single mom I have not had the opportunity to travel much- I must save & scrimp. My experience here in your home and in Bermuda has been well worth what it took to get here! Thank you for opening your lovely home and thank you to the lovely people of Bermuda for their hospitality and friendliness. I am so appreciative
