Close to home, you will have the pleasure of exploring the spectacular beaches along the southern coastline: Whale Bay and the stunning Church Bay offer wonderful South Shore snorkelling opportunities as well as pink, shell strewn beaches to explore (the famous ones such as Horseshoe Bay and Warwick Long Bay are renowned, but you will not want to miss the stunning trio of secret coves tucked between those two larger beaches- Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay and Jobson’s Cove. These three are the last word in romantic pink sand and gentle surf in splendid seclusion. Snorkelling equipment can be rented at Church Bay and several of the larger beaches such as Horseshoe. Closer than Hamilton for fine dining are the excellent facilities of The Reefs Resort in Southampton: their open-air Coconuts restaurant overlooking their private silvery sand beach will arrange a table on the beach with candles, full linens and silverware and delectable meal for your never-to-be-forgotten evening celebration. One must reserve ahead to make arrangements by calling: 441-238-0222.No reservations required for lunch however!

There are four golf courses nearby for you to play: Riddells Bay, The Belmont Golf Course, The Fairmont Southampton Golf Club and the Port Royal Golf Course are all within 10 minutes of the property and each offers its own unique challenge.

A Southampton location is considered to be a very attractive option for visitors in the know. Although the locations in the closest proximity to the beaches of the South Shore tend to be in the most demand, the 22 mile length of the island and its width of less than a mile in most places means that access to those beaches is easy by bus or by moped and that’s only after you have savoured the pretty beaches in the immediate area….

Somerset Long Bay is a quiet beach in the West end that you will want to explore… as well as The Railway Trail, a meandering paved pathway through the countryside you can explore on foot or by moped. The Trail is the land right of way owned by the government for long defunct railway system. No cars or trucks are allowed upon it, so the amble will take you through beautiful park like settings overlooking the water and the interesting homes and gardens you would not otherwise notice.

Fine dining would include Cambridge Beaches in Somerset and the Newport Room of The Fairmont Southampton Princess, as well as nice roadside cafes for breakfast or lunch.

The City of Hamilton also has lovely places to dine and shop, and in the summer months through to October, Harbour Nights on Front Street on Wednesday evenings is a sparkling outdoor market event. With live music, delicious food and unusual locally made items to buy, the street is shut to vehicular traffic and the better shops remain open. Everyone congregates happily til 10 pm. and then drifts off to window-shop, or investigate the night clubs, bars and cafes. The city is easily reached by bus, ferry (Rockaway Wharf is nearby) or moped, with taxis available to whisk you away home at the end of the evening.

We are just back from another fabulous vacation in our favorite island of Bermuda! My husband and I brought our three adult sons and our daughter in law, and as always, you arranged the perfect home for us. It was situated on our own bay and had a beautiful fresh water pool, which was everyones favorite amenity! As you know, we have used your company for many years and have never been disappointed in any way. We will not ever use another company for any of our future trips to Bermuda! Thank you for helping us to create many lovely memories!

We stayed at W15 in June 2016. It was a totally perfect family vacation (6 adults and 2 children, ages 4 and 6).

The pool was the highlight: clean, refreshing, with amazing views from the pool deck out over the Bay. The diving board and slide kept the kids (and adults…) entertained for days, playing games, relaxing, and just having a blast. The house is set on a very nicely sized property, with some lovely gardens, and you feel like you have a beautiful corner of Bermuda all to yourself. We barely heard a neighbor all week.
The House: The owner recently built a permanent sunshade over a portion of the pool deck, which was great as it was nice to escape the sun during the hot afternoons. Inside the house the decor and furniture is a little dated, but very spacious and comfortable, with large, quiet bedrooms (great views from the master bedroom), and plenty of dining and living space. We cooked every night and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped (pans, silverware, coffee makers, etc.). The outdoor grill was great and we used it every night, and the picnic table by the pool was perfect for evening cocktails and dinner. The flies were only annoying at sundown, and bug-spray usually did the trick. The air-conditioning worked great throughout the house (window units in each room).
The Bay: There is a concrete ramp from the garden down to the Bay but it is a bit slippery. If you bring aquasocks it’s easy enough to go for a lovely swim in the clean and clear water, though. We didn’t use this ramp often, however, as the pool was so great.
Housekeeper, Gardener & Rental Agency: The housekeeper was very kind and welcoming. The gardener was very nice and helpful answering our questions. The owner of the house gave us a very nice phone call a few days before departure, giving us restaurant recommendations and other tips. The rental agency was also very professional and easy to work with, and we received our full deposit back a month after the trip.
Transportation: We found it was very helpful to have at least one scooter (which can be rented from Oleander at the Reefs Resort, a 15-20 minute walk from the house), and one person willing to ride it, to run errands. Note that the scooters are a little tricky to learn to drive, so make sure you have someone who’s confident/experienced. There is a bus stop right in front of the house, which was very convenient. We bought bus passes at the Post Office on Middle Road, a 10 minute walk east from the house. But note, the Post Office is NOT open on weekends. The buses are very clean and efficient, though sometimes you wait 10-15 minutes for the right bus. We took buses, with the kids, all over the island to see various attractions. We took a taxi to/from the airport. I think it was about $50 and was very easy to arrange (the rental agency gave us the name of their preferred driver, or you can pick one up very easily at the airport). There are phone numbers for taxis on the fridge and in the welcome booklet. Local calls from the house were free.
Groceries: The best market we found was Heron Bay Market on Middle Road back toward Hamilton and a 10 or 15-minute scooter ride away. The store is very well-stocked, comparable to a small Shaw’s or Stop&Shop. We did a grocery run every morning or two on the scooter. Alternatively, you could try to take taxis or the bus to the market. We took the rental agency’s advice and took a big bag of frozen meats and other staples on the plane, which was actually very easy and made shopping much easier, and cheaper. The grocery prices were more expensive than US prices, as the rental agency told us. There was sometimes a small vegetable stand near the house, on Middle Road, but the selection wasn’t terrific when we were there.
Beaches: Church Bay Beach was quite walkable (10-15 minutes) and extremely pretty. Morning visits to this beach were the best, as it got more crowded in the afternoon, as it is a small beach. The snorkeling was very cool, though there’s no equipment rental. Other beaches (Horseshoe, Elbow, etc.) required taking a bus, which was fine though and made for a great day-trip.
Tennis: We found courts at Port Royal Club (10 minute scooter ride from the house) that are free and no seems to know about them. No amenities (bathrooms, etc.) but the courts are nicely tucked away at the base of golf course and have decent quality surfaces/nets.
Overall, probably the ONLY downside to the house was that it’s in quite a residential area, and not in walking distance to much else besides Church Bay Beach. Definitely plan to rent scooters, or take the bus or taxis, if you plan on touring the island, shopping for food, etc. But we knew all this going in and it all worked out so well. The upside is that you’re at a very large, private house with a great pool, all to yourself! And did I mention the views? 😉

Our stay at W15 was just as amazing this year as it was in 1999. My husband and I went with 2 other couples and we were all comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and appliances, plenty of linens, bedrooms were comfortable, A/C, TVs, washer/dryer all work fine. etc. The pool was great and we even used the diving board and slide. W15 is in a fabulous location and is an easy moped ride to anything on the island. There are convenient grocery stores within a 5-10 minute ride in either direction.

Our experience with Fiona Campbell, as our realtor, was excellent as always. We have used Fiona for our lodging needs in Bermuda 8 times and we have always had great service. Highly recommend!

W15 on the North Shore is a lovely home in a positively gorgeous location. Set well back from the road it sits high on a bluff overlooking a wide expanse of Herrington Sound’s beautiful waters. On a lower terraced level accessed by a stone stairway is the pool, large, well-maintained and with both sun and shade available all day, with a perfect moongate and yellowbirds moving about. Another 20 feet down is the water’s edge – unfortunately there is no beach, only rocky coral – and the remains of an old marine railway. Over to the edge of the property are the ruins of a building of some kind – no one seems to have a clue about its history or use – and a vegetable garden beautifully tended by the groundskeeper.

But the real story is the view, the view. Beautiful at any time of day, from sunrise to sunset, with pleasure boats plying the waters of Herrington Sound, cruise ships docking or undocking at The Dockyard, some three to four miles distant, Bermuda longtails on the wing, and the occasional regatta. Heaven on earth! And the grounds are beautifully maintained also.

The house is both large and very comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are large, while two are on the small side. Three bedrooms have en suite full baths and one an ensuite half bath. Beds are comfortable and two bedrooms have TV. There is a large living room and full-size dining room, plus a large family room and a spacious kitchen; furnishings are not super luxe but are adequate. The kitchen is as well equipped as most good home kitchens. In its position atop the bluff there is almost always a breeze, and air conditioning usage can be minimal. The gas grill is functional.

The groundskeeper and housekeeper are delightful people. The groundskeeper is on the property every day and was wonderful about supplying us with fresh produce from the garden. We were told that he is also willing to provide close-to-home transportation, but we did not use this service. The housekeeper comes in twice a week, chiefly to do laundry; she is very personable, a joy to chat with and a great source of information about the island.

The bus stops at or near the foot of the driveway, perhaps 50 yards from the house (absolutely no road noise in the house, however) a wonderful convenience for those who can’t or won’t ride scooters or who want to avoid taxis. (W15 is a goodly distance from Hamilton, The Dockyard and St. George’s, and taxis can get very expensive.) The bus will take you everywhere on the island; the drivers, like almost all Bermudians, are friendly, polite and helpful, as are the other passengers. Whether by bus or by taxi, allow plenty of time for travel.

All in all it would be hard to find a better place to while away a week. Yes, it’s expensive, but especially for three or four couples, not unduly so.

Thank you so much for recommending W15 to us. Our group absolutely loved the old Bermuda charm and the access to both ocean views, the pool and proximity to beaches, having the bus stop at your doorstep was fabulous and we always took a cab home in the evening, one tip for people would be to leave the porch light on if you are going to be home late, but fumbling around in the dark proved to be entertaining as well.
The cab drivers were lovely and full of information about what to see and history of the island. The house has lots of space so we weren’t tripping over each other and the housekeeping staff were very helpful. The gardens are beautiful, and loved the old stone house on the property. We took along water shoes so we could walk straight down the boat slip into the water.
A special treat for us was a trip to the Black Horse Restaurant in St David’s, a little out of the way but worth it. They serve a fantastic fish sandwich! Amber Jack!

    Can’t wait to go back!

We all had a fabulous week at W15 (Aug 17-24). It was the perfect place for our family of seven adults. The house and location were even better than described, the pool was wonderful, the grounds keeper and housekeeper were very helpful. It was the perfect family vacation and we look forward to returning.

Fiona, We just got back from BDA and had a great time at W15. It is a fabulous property and provided us everything we needed in terms of space for privacy and to just hang out. The pictures on the website were good, but really didn’t do it justice. Also want to say that people at Lindo’s were fabulous for getting groceries delivered. We weren’t able to use the drivers you recommended because we were late calling, but they were helpful getting other rides arranged. Only recommendations would be to place the book with instructions in a more prominent place to so that new guests would see it immediately. We didn’t figure out the recycling for a couple of days. The other issue was gas went out on the stove and there was no instruction, one of our group was smart enough to go outside find the tank and switch it over, but it wouldn’t likely be something everyone would know. J was delightful, came and helped with trash, and even drove my husband to fishing hole one day. He is the hardest working guy, always there working and always a delight to be around. The housekeeper did a nice job cleaning, it was nice to have fresh towels. All in all a fabulous time, the pool, the views, the accommodations WERE FABULOUS. Given the opportunity, I’ll certainly recommend your website and W15.

Our family of seven (four adult children plus one son-in-law) stayed from July 6 to July 20 2013 and had a wonderful time. Agree with all the previous reviews. This house can sleep 8, is on the ocean, has a great pool which is nice for an evening swim, is right by a bus stop, and is within walking distance of Church Bay, one of Bermuda’s better snorkeling locations. Both the house and grounds are beautiful. I have already recommended this house to my brother for a family trip to

We stayed at W15 from June 29, 2013 till July 6, 2013. We were a group of 6 adults all in our 60’s. The home is very nicely equipped and in excellent repair. The full time grounds keeper and the part time house keeper do an excellent job. We hired an aqua aerobics instructor to come to the house each morning for a 1 one session. It was very nice. Travel around the Island from the home could not have been easier, the bus is right at the end of the driveway. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and would not hesitate to return to this rental home in the future.

We had a great time in Bermuda! The house was fabulous, we were 4 couples and we had lots of space. Really enjoyed the pool and the ocean, we all brought water shoes and were able to go in from the boat slip. Such a beautiful property. Melvin was great, he even remembered the guys from when we used to work in Bermuda. Bermudians are lovely people, very helpful and entertaining. Really enjoyed the fish sandwich and fish chowder at the Black Horse in St David’s, and Mickey’s at Elbow Beach, and the Pastry Shop in Dockyard. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at W15 from March 24-31 with our family to celebrate my husband’s circle 7 birthday. It was perfect in everyway. The kids and grandkids all had their own space. The kitchen totally equipped with anything you might need. Pool and garden areas breathtaking. Caretaker and housekeeper perfectly delightful. We took the bus everywhere, yet also walked the Rail Trail. We were in town for the Good Friday Balloon festival on Horseshoe Bay Beach. This house has it all. Enjoy your time!

We had a wonderful Christmas at W15. This quiet, spacious, private house has wonderful views and beautiful grounds. We especially enjoyed the mid-afternoon sun on the front porch and the morning sun by the pool. Having bus stops at the end of the driveway made getting to Hamilton and the Dockyards a breeze. The barbecue and well equipped kitchen made meals easy to prepare.

What an amazing piece of property! It was absolutely the perfect place for our family. When our granddaughter was napping, her mom and dad were perfectly content to swim and read at the pool. Sunrise and sunset were spectacular, and it was interesting to watch the cruise ships come in and leave. We knew we were going to be there for a holiday, but we didn’t know about Cupmatch and the cross island rivalry. That was fun to be a part of! We were frequently asked who we were rooting for…and wisely answered Somerset since they were “our” side of the island. We hope to be able to come again someday, and, if we haven’t outgrown that house, we will want to return to [W15]. Thanks again for facilitating our Bermuda week! Lots of memories to enjoy over and over again.

We had a wonderful experience during our trip to Bermuda. The young kids traveled well and settled in to [W15] very quickly. The house was perfect for our situation with the pool, proximity to the bus stop and quality of the property. [The taxi driver] Mr. Outerbridge was everything you billed him to be and more. Thanks to [the groundskeeper], the grounds are spectacular and very well cared for (you can just tell that he really cares about the property). Thanks for your help. We’ll certainly go back to Bermuda.

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in this house. It has an amazing view and the pool setting is fabulous. It was centrally located making trips around the island fairly easy. [The housekeeper and groundskeeper] were also very helpful.and very nice- I can’t believe [the groundskeeper] is able to do these grounds all by himself. Melvin was extremely helpful and entertaining. He is a great asset. Thank you for your help in arranging our rentals. Even with the “bad” weather from Debbie, it was gorgeous almost every day. I can see why you choose this house to stay in yourself.
